Brett and Brittney went in to the hospital on Thursday night last week so Brittney could be induced to have her baby on a schedule.  Although I have gone to pharmacy school and observed a few surgeries I have never seen the birth of a baby.

Brittney said that I could come to the birth of her baby.  I was so excited!!!

I arrived at the hospital when Brittney was only dilated to a 4.....I thought that she would progress quicker that she did based on her previous two pregnancies.  Needless to say Brett, Brittney and I spent many hours in the labor and delivery room waiting for Brittney's body to be ready to have a baby.  I didn't mind being there with them most of the day.  We played games and had many great conversations.  Good thing I brought my iPad so we could play Settlers of Catan too.

Once Brittney got her epidural she relaxed enough to have a nice nap free from discomfort.  She said that hasn't happened for the last nine months.

The three of played cards (9 Hole - one of our favorites) right up until the doctor walked in the room to deliver a baby.  Fifteen minutes later Mercedez was here.  I'll be honest it was a surreal experience.  I had all sorts of emotions run through my body.  When that child was placed up on her mother's lap I lost my emotional cool and broke into tears.  I was really grateful that my brother Brett was there to comfort me.

I want to experience motherhood so badly.  I am so hopeful that I will have that opportunity.  I am going to be as positive as possible and do all that I can to make that happen.

I am so happy for my Brother and his beautiful family.  I'm also grateful that he married such a beautiful person in Brittney.  I couldn't ask for a better sister-in-law.

Congratulations Blackham Family!!!

Zachary and Jordan instantly fell in love with their baby sister!!

USN - Graduation

What a wealth of emotions!! I finally graduated from Pharmacy School and I'm so happy.  I was so pleased with the graduation ceremony.  It was just beautiful.  There was a string quartet that played to opening and closing music and the entire ceremony only took about 90 minutes.  I was totally okay with that. It was so nice to have so much family there to support me.  They are the greatest!  I love them so much.

I think that one of the best experiences of pharmacy school were the friendships that I developed.  I think that is one of the most important things that I got out of pharmacy school.  I honestly feel that there is a reason all of these wonderful people are in my life.  I think that they are the greatest and I'm going to miss not seeing them as often.

My wonderful family that has supported me through the years!

After graduation I went out to eat with my family to one of my favorite places, The Old Spaghetti Factory in Trolley Square.  It was perfect.
When we were done we went shopping and I found the cutest purse to wear with my blue and yellow dress.  I just had to get it.  I'm not sure what else I will be wearing with this but who cares I LOVE it!

Brittney and Brett the took us out to eat at a cute tea and dessert shop called Elizabeth's.  It's right across the street from Trolly square and it's adorable.  There was a huge photo of the queen inside and other British paraphernalia - even a flag of William and Kate - Honoring their wedding earlier this year.  I like the atomsphere of little shops like that.  It's too bad that there aren't more of them where I live.

Wedding Reception in North Salt Lake

Delicious treats - Pinapple soda and an ice cream bar.  There was Cinnamon ice cream that
I had never had before and it was delicious.  I highly recommend it!

This picture makes me laugh because Bryce obviously was wishing he was
somewhere other than at a wedding reception!

Cousins!  Love these guys!
